Owners Club call themselves a "punk / pub rock five piece" - but they are so much more than that. There's a through line in their taut, visceral sound going from British greats like Roxy Music and Marc Bolan, through The Buzzcocks and The Jam before taking a detour off to NYC and nodding towards The Strokes and The Walkmen. The band's songs take in subject matter that range from singing about the long discontinued Double Diamond beer to vampires, the occult and an England that feels like a distant memory.
Having signed to Goo Records in early 2023, their self titled debut EP was described by Notion magazine as "defying categorisation" and "blending elements of post-punk and indie rock with a grungy, joyous and radiant spirit". The Club have supported the likes of NYC's Geese, LA Witch, Ugly, The Bug Club and Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard. Live shows feature visceral, electric energy driven by gritty guitars, pulsating synths and driving drums.
Goo Records released the Owners Club EP on 7" vinyl in October 2023. You can buy it on Bandcamp, or from selected independent record shops. The vinyl is also available directly from the band at their gigs. Their latest singles, Come Dine With Me, Hello Boy and Holiday At Home, are all available via their Bandcamp and major streaming services.
